Within the Entrepreneuress Academy we commonly discuss the importance of the way women lead.
I thought that this interview with Anna Wintour was very interesting.

Anna has received intense backlash because she leads in a very masculine way.
After watching the September Issue with a friend I mused, “It’s so unfair that just because she is a woman everyone thinks that she is a b*tch, but if she were a man she would just be considered successful.”
As a young female entrepreneur, there are times that I find it necessary to assert myself in a strong manner to counteract my age and gender in predominantly male settings, however there is a new trend of doing business in a “feminine manner.”
Many female business coaches are now encouraging to their clients to run their businesses through harnessing their uniquely feminine attributes of emotion and intuition.
They believe that the key to a woman’s success in the business world is being very different from the men in it.
In the past we have seen women assimilate into the business world by becoming more like the men in it.
“Wear the pants” we think as we become aggressive, impatient, and intolerant of mediocre performance.
I think that it is not as much about gender as it is about qualities.
While characteristics such as logical, decisive and confident are often attributed as “male” characteristics – I believe that they are still excellent qualities to have as an Entrepreneuress.
So what do you think? Is it bad to be like men in business?
Or do we just need to get over these gender stereotypes and lead how we want to lead?
Is your style of leadership more masculine or feminine?
